What Jesus Said About Sin
In the Bible, there are several passages where Jesus spoke about sin. He said that the sinner is a slave to sin. John 8:34. Sin enslaves. When you get free from sin, you are no longer its slave. John 8:36. Jesus commanded not to sin. John 8:11. Sin comes from the heart, and the pure in heart will see God. Mark 7:20-24Â Matt. 5:8. If you are a Christian, keep your heart pure! Sin makes one blind. John 9:41, but Jesus can open the eyes from blindness.
Jesus has therefore warned many times about sin. Everything Jesus said is true, and He never committed a single sin. That is why He can atone for sins. Jesus is God’s sacrificial lamb.
What Is Sin?
Sin means a violation against God or against people. Sin is what separates us from God. In the Bible, there are passages that tell what sin is. 1 John 3:4, James 4:17, Romans 14:23, Sin is an evil thing in God’s eyes. God’s children do not commit willful sin. 1 John 3:6. 1 John 3:9. 1 John 5:18. But even if you sin, we have an advocate. 1 John 2:1.
God’s child may be in a life situation where he commits sin, but he repents before his death. At the beginning of my faith, I had serious sins and it seemed I could not get free from them. I prayed, and God freed me from willful sins. If I fall, I repent. The ultimate state should be that there is no willful sin by God’s grace.
How Can One Avoid Sin?
If you have the Holy Spirit in you, you can with His help avoid willful sin. If your conscience accuses you, it is usually a sign that there is sin in your life. I had sins that troubled and accused my conscience. When I repented, the accusation stopped. Also, the enemy stopped accusing when there was nothing more to accuse.
If you really want to be free from sin, you should pray and fast. Make a firm decision that you will no longer sin. It requires faith, and it helps if you hear God’s voice. If God says that you are committing sin and says that you can be free from it, then it will truly happen. The Bible and your conscience tell you where there is sin. The enemy may also accuse falsely, but if your conscience is clear, there is no sin.
So the most important measure is your conscience. If you have sin in your life and you are a Christian, I encourage you to repent. When you have repented, do not fall again. Make your calling firm, so you never fall! 2 Peter 1:10
What Happens If You Commit Willful Sin and Do Not Repent?
If you are Jesus’s lamb, you will be saved! Jesus indeed takes care of His lambs so that willful sin can be overcome during your lifetime here on earth. But in the worst case, willful sin prevents salvation. It certainly depends on what sin it is—whether it is a great or small sin. In the Bible, it is written what is sin. If you read the Bible and notice that you have sinned in some place, then repent. Satan’s children do not make true repentance, and the Bible tells what happens then. If you struggle and realize sin, but it seems you cannot get free from it, then pray. When you repent from your heart about sin, God will give you a way to be free from it. If you have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, then get it first. The Holy Spirit makes it possible.
Why Does God Not Accept Sin?
God is holy, and He requires that the believer also be holy. God does not tolerate sin. It is God’s nature. Ultimately, there will be a time when there is no more sin. There is no sin in heaven, nor in the new earth and heaven. Sin is completely removed. Jesus is sinless, and He has never committed any sin. Jesus is an example to all believers. When you follow Jesus, the requirement is that you do not sin. God loves Jesus above all, because He is the only one who has never sinned. So if you follow Jesus, God requires of you that you do not commit willful sin.

My Experience With Sin
I myself have committed serious sins both before and after my conversion. By God’s grace, I have been able to repent and have been freed from sins that accused my conscience and for which Satan accused. I can only trust in God’s grace that all my bad deeds will be forgiven. Because I was able to repent from those serious sins that I committed, I assume that I have received forgiveness for all my sins.
I know what sin is and I have been seriously guilty of it. The only way to stay free from willful sin is to make a firm decision not to sin again and to pray and fast. I repent of the evil I have done in God’s eyes. It keeps me in a low place and humble. The only thing I can trust in is God’s grace and love.
What Are the Most Powerful Ways to Get Free From Sin?
Without a doubt, the most powerful way to get free from sin is to hear God’s voice. I had problems with unbelief, but when I heard God’s voice, my faith was immediately strengthened. I am not yet 100% sure that I would hear God’s voice clearly, but sometimes I am sure that God is speaking now. This is the most powerful way.
The second most powerful way is prayer, if these can be ranked. Pray and send prayer requests if you cannot get free from sin. You can also send me a prayer request, and I can anonymously send it to several prayer warriors. The more prayer requests you send, the better. Do not stay alone with your sin, but bring it to light! That is the first step. Do not give up no matter what you have done. It is a sign of the Holy Spirit if you repent of your sins and want to be free from them.
The third most powerful way is fasting. Fast and pray. If you feel you cannot keep, for example, a water fast for some reason, fast according to your faith. I can tell you that it is possible to fast for surprisingly long periods. A fast of repentance is powerful in God’s eyes. When you truly repent of your sins and fast, you give it to God. Jesus sees your heart and wants to set you free if you are His lamb.
A Word of Comfort: Do Not Give Up!
Do not give up no matter what the situation looks like. Because you are reading this article, it is possible that the Lord led you to read this. I was in an almost hopeless situation, but I did not give up. Everything seemed to be collapsing, and I was in unbelief and feared that there was no salvation left. Yet I did not give up, and now that I have gotten free from willful sin, I feel that God has forgiven me. If you struggle with sin, it is a sign that God wants to lead you away from sin.
Why Do Many People Say That You Can Commit Sin?
I often hear and see that people say that you can certainly sin and that only Jesus is sinless and that you cannot get free from willful sin. You can get free from sin with the help of the Holy Spirit! 1 John 3:6. I certainly also have some unintentional sins in my life that I do not know about. Sin is a serious matter in God’s eyes, and it must always be repented of. God is the same today, yesterday, and forever. He does not change His nature. God hates sin, and if one is not obedient to Jesus, one is under God’s wrath. So listen to Jesus, and if you feel that you are committing sin, then get rid of it by any means!
Sheeps and goats
Jesus will ultimately separate the goats and the sheep. The goats will be placed on His left, and the sheep on His right. Matthew 25:31,32,33, Matthew 7:21,22,23
The goats represent those who continued in lawlessness.
The sheep had the Holy Spirit, but without lawlessness in their lives.
If you are a believer, do not practice anything that involves lawlessness.
This is extremely important to understand.
The Holy Spirit must never be used or treated wrongly.
The Grace of the Prodigal Son
Perhaps you have read about the prodigal son. Luke 15:11-32. The prodigal son abandoned his Father and went his own way. No matter what your situation is, there is still the grace of the prodigal son. I experienced receiving exactly this grace when I lived in willful sin. This Bible passage comforted me. It will surely comfort you too if you are living in willful sin. So it is possible to repent and the Father will gladly receive you. If you feel that you are far from God, pray and turn around. Make a complete turnaround in your life! Abandon willful sin!

If your conscience accuses you, repent and turn around! Do not give sin and the devil a place in your life! No matter how serious your sin is, you have the grace of the prodigal son. Isaiah 1:18.
