Where in the Bible did Jesus teach about love

Jesus taught about love in several places in the Bible. 1 John 5:3. John 15:12,13. Matthew 5:44. John 13:34,35.
He did the greatest act of love for believers when He died for the believers. A greater act of love could not be done. He therefore completed the work of love perfectly.

Love was the greatest thing Jesus brought into the world. God the Father did the greatest act of love when He sent Jesus into the world, John 3:16. Why did this have to be done? God knows what He is doing. God’s ways are not man’s ways. He works in His own way, which people do not necessarily understand. Isaiah 55:8,9.

What is love?

Love means that you seek the best for another person and do everything you can for him. Love includes caring, but also discipline and correction, Hebrews 12:5,6 and Proverbs 3:11,12. The Bible clearly tells what love is in 1 Corinthians 13:4,5,6,7.
Love is the greatest thing in God’s eyes, because God IS love, 1 John 4:8; 1 John 4:16. If one does not love, then he is not acceptable to God. God requires absolute love. Love is given by God to believers supernaturally. All true disciples love. It is not an option, it is a requirement!

How can one learn to love if one does not know how to love?

I can say that I have not always lived in love. Before my conversion, I did not know what love was. I did not have loving parents and lived in a children’s home and foster family from the time I was a small boy. I experienced rejection and therefore did not know what love was. Even now I sometimes doubt whether God truly loves me. I can trust the word of the Bible that God loves by grace.

If you do not know how to love, then the first thing is to come to faith! You must repent of your sins and receive water baptism by immersion, and then you will receive the promised baptism of the Holy Spirit from God. The Holy Spirit will begin to produce love. It happens in the Holy Spirit by itself over time. In the beginning “baby believers” may not know how to love, but as you walk forward in steps of faith, God can do it when you pray.

I experienced God’s love the greatest when I made true repentance in my life. God was merciful even though I also sinned after my conversion. I do not know what would have happened to me if I had died in sin after my conversion. Jesus never sinned and never will. That is why God loves Him the most always and forever, amen!

How does love appear?

Love appears as acts of love. If you love God with all your mind and with all your strength and do good to another, and also discipline and correct when needed, you live in love. Every Christian must love. If a brother or sister sins against you, then you must in love forgive if he repents. Forgiveness is love. Luke 6:37. Forgiveness is not an option, it is a requirement. If you do not forgive, then God will not forgive you either. If you feel that someone has sinned against you and you feel that you cannot forgive, then pray! When you pray, God can work in your heart so you can forgive. Make a firm decision to forgive!

Love appears in caring, disciplining, and forgiving. Jesus’ commandments are not burdensome, 1 John 5:3. Love is pure. It is not the kind of love that is known in the world, at least not completely. It is much more! So do acts of love as much as possible and love your Savior and God the Father with all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength! Matthew 22:37.

God has the right either to love or to hate. God hates lawlessness, and all who are not obedient to Jesus are under God’s wrath, John 3:36. That is why all the children of Satan go into destruction. They do not love God, and they are children of wrath. A child of God is known by the fact that he loves!

Hatred and lawlessness are clearly seen in the world. There is lying, violence, doing evil and speaking evil, witchcraft and occultism. These are all acts of hatred that God hates. These are the opposites of love which no one should do. One should be obedient to Jesus as well as possible and love God.

My own experience of love

I myself could not love God from my heart until I repented of my sins. When I did that, my eyes opened. I saw God in a different light. I believe that I am called and chosen. The greatest sign of this is that I was able to repent of my sins. If you do not know how to love God, then repent of your sins. You will notice the difference immediately and you will be the object of God’s love.

I did not understand why God acts a certain way. I did not understand hell and why the children of Satan have to go there. But the Bible says that everyone who hates God loves death, Proverbs 8:36. The children of Satan do not want God’s presence from their heart but want to live in darkness. God’s children want God’s presence and want to live in the light. That is the difference.

The Holy Spirit has worked in me so that I can now love God and live in the light. It feels wonderful. I do not believe I could write this article if I did not live in the light and in love. God would not allow it.

God shows His love to those who live close to Him. You must keep short accounts with God and must avoid willful sin. Then you can feel God’s love concretely.

What Jesus Said About Love

Jesus came to bring love into the world. Love is, according to Jesus, the most important thing. He taught that God must be loved with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength, Mark 12:30. Jesus said that he who hates his brother is a murderer. The Bible also says that rebuke and discipline are love.

If you cannot love, then you can pray for God to change your mind and heart so that you learn to love. If you are not yet in the faith, then the most important thing is to repent and believe the gospel and be obedient to Jesus.
